Top Coats & Waxes

TTC is a water based, heavy duty sealant with a flat matte finish. Robust, with increased heat resistance, it provides a very hard wearing, protective coating for kitchen cupboards, worktops, tables and wood floors as well as sealing porous vertical surfaces such as concrete, unglazed tiles and brickwork. Its environmentally friendly composition, ISO 11998 Class 1 Wet Scrub rating, EN71-3 compliance and no added VOCs, means it is perfect for children's toys.

Use it to seal the Frenchic Original Artisan Range where a tough matte alternative to wax is desired or mix with our metallic Frensheens to add pizazz to your projects! Suitable for internal and external use.

Make Defining Wax your go-to choice for emphasising detail whether your project has panelling, intricate mouldings or surface texture. Apply over colours from any Frenchic range to deepen and darken tones or if you are looking to create a worn, characterful finish. Can be used as a grey wax (similar to a black wax but more versatile) and perfect as a dark wood wax without brown tones (choose Browning Wax for that!).

Frenchic Finishing Coat is a durable top coat with a soft sheen finish. Use it to provide a more hardwearing alternative to wax for sealing our Original Artisan Range or for furniture that may need extra protection due heavy use or is prone to water splash. Great to use prior to painting to seal wood that is prone to bleed through, knotty or particularly porous. It also works wonders paired with the metallic Frensheens and can be used for decoupage projects, image transfer and mixed with our paints to form decorative glazes for use with any other Frenchic paint range.

Thanks to its composition, and manufacturing methods, water based Finishing Coat is virtually innocuous for people and the environment. It has also gone through rigorous testing to be certified child safe (UKCA and EN 71-3 compliant).

Easy Crackle allows you to create a cracked, aged appearance for your projects.

Simply apply, allow to dry thoroughly, paint over with any Frenchic range and watch the crackle effect develop in front of your eyes! Fun to use over previously painted surfaces, bare wood, terracotta, plastic or try over one of the metallic Frenchic Frensheens (mixed with Finishing Coat).

The surface beneath determines the colour of the crack and the second, the overall colour of the project, giving your furniture an aged appearance. 

Water based, Easy Crackle is UKCA and EN71-3 certified, meaning it is safe to use on children's toys.

Browning Wax, our dark wood wax, gives a fabulous aged or rustic effect to your projects. It picks out texture and can be blended to vary the tone of any Frenchic range. Apply to bare wood surfaces to bring out character and depth. Often used over Frenchic Lazy Range Creme de la Creme to fantastic effect to revive and lighten dark ceiling beams.

White Wax provides a lightening, softening effect to any Frenchic colour it's applied over. It also works well on bare wood, like a limed or white washed effect. Fabulous! The more surface texture, the stronger the effect. Perfect if you want vintage provincial France style or washed out coastal vibes.

As well as sealing, Clear Wax will enrich and deepen the Original Artisan Range colours and can impart a shine to other Frenchic ranges if desired. Combine with the Frenchic metallic Frensheens for added pizazz or a soft, shimmering seal! You can also mix in a little of any Frenchic paint to tint for an endless variety of colour options.
